I am excited to announce that we have (finally) kicked off our girls' program at The Studio called StronGIRLS. This is something I have been thinking about for quite some time and
I am so thankful that a persistent momma got me to move forward with it. Thank you Jen!!!
Our current StronGIRLS program, designed for girls ages 8-15, is held on Wednesdays 5:30-6:15pm and will run through the end of April. Each week the girls will use different modalities like battle ropes, dumbbells, Bosu balls, and TRX as they work their way through a fast paced circuit.
By mixing up the equipment each week and using shorter circuit intervals I am able to keep the girls engaged and motivated for the entire class. The younger girls use our kids size battle ropes and lighter weights and our older teens go all out using heavier equipment and quicker, more advanced cardio moves much like our women's fitness classes.
Before and during class, I take time to show the girls proper form for each exercise and I will progress them when appropriate... at their pace and their fitness level. My goal with this program is to not only build their strength and endurance safely but to build their confidence and self-esteem as well. As grown women, I think we all know how important all of this is at an early age.
I'm excited to see how our girls progress on their fitness journeys and I am looking forward to expanding the program in May when we start out next session.
