I've lived in Sparta for almost 10 years now. As most of you know, I wasn't loving it. Didn't hate it, but didn't love it. It took me a good 7.5 to 8 years to finally love it.
You wanna know what changed? A few years ago I turned 44. I freaked out. My dad died when he was 44. I didn't want to die. So I took my health and fitness more seriously. I lost that extra weight I had been bitching about for a few years, got real, put in the work, ate better, felt better. And have continued to do so. And I began to hang out with like-minded people.
Other women who were moms like me who were into their health and fitness. And now I have made some solid friends and have a pretty big network of like-minded people that I speak to or hang out with daily. Whether it be a chat on the phone, an exercise class, a run, a hike or even just sharing a recipe.
Stop spending time with people who bring you down. Find friends who lift you up. Who make you better. Friends you make better. It makes all the difference in the world and your outlook on life.
