What's your WHY?
Sometimes (or should I say alot of the time), it's hard to stay on track with your nutrition and exercise. We are surrounded by unhealthy food choices, really good TV shows (ha...damn you Netflix) and we have a lot of excuses. People who determine their WHY and set goals have much more success than those who don't.
Dig deep. Think about how your life would change if you made healthier choices. For example, you would have more energy so you could participate in activities you may not be able to do now.
You would be able to play more with your kids or grandkids. You would have a clearer mind. A smaller waistline. You may be able to get off your medications.
I promise you if you make healthier choices, you will overall just feel better physically and mentally.
Set goals. Set mini-goals. Make them realistic. Big change does not happen overnight. It's done with commitment and determination and TIME. Don't go for the quick fix It won't last. We all know this.
If you start today, where will you be in 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months? Start NOW.
And think about your WHY. Why you really want to be healthy? For me, it's my kids. We have a family history of early death (mid-40s) from heart disease.
My father died at 44 (I was 10), my brother was 43 when he died and I've had aunts, uncles and cousins die from heart attacks in their 40s and 50s as well. Not this girl! I want to raise MY girls. So I will continue to make healthier choices. Not always, I do indulge sometimes just like anyone else. But overall I live for my WHY.
